"Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder characterized by intrusive thoughts that produce uneasiness, apprehension, fear, or worry, by repetitive behaviors aimed at reducing the associated anxiety, or by a combination of such obsessions and compulsions." [link]
people often misunderstand mental disorders. maybe because these disorders don't seem to show any 'visible' symptoms, or the symptoms are subtle and all happen in the brain. people can identify and accept cancer, down's syndrome, malaria, yellow fewer, psoriasis and so on. rarely can they identify and accept mental illnesses.
schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, agoraphobia etc. are all serious conditions.
please take care of yourself and your beloved ones and don't be afraid to ask for help, should you experience any of these conditions.
I really appreciate your interest in these conditions! I have OCD and to be honest this picture makes me kind of anxious because I cannot understand the pattern, like it is not organised in the way I want to, though it is very very beautiful! Congrats! I can really understand how finalisartist feels! It is a disorder that cannot be easily described and makes no sense for someone who hasn't experienced anything similar. Even people with OCD can have diffirent symptons! But I think that all of us know exactly how untolerable it can be sometimes and how much one can suffer. The important message that you send by posting this is that no one should be afraid to ask for help. When I got help I felt better only by understanding what is happening to me! Anyone with a mental disorder is born like that and should not be ashamed or feel responsible for that! We are all trying our best!
