"Bipolar disorder or bipolar affective disorder, historically known as manic–depressive disorder, is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a category of mood disorders defined by the presence of one or more episodes of abnormally elevated energy levels, cognition, and mood with or without one or more depressive episodes. The elevated moods are clinically referred to as mania or, if milder, hypomania." [link]
people often misunderstand mental disorders. maybe because these disorders don't seem to show any 'visible' symptoms, or the symptoms are subtle and all happen in the brain. people can identify and accept cancer, down's syndrome, malaria, yellow fewer, psoriasis and so on. rarely can they identify and accept mental illnesses.
schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, agoraphobia etc. are all serious conditions.
please take care of yourself and your beloved ones and don't be afraid to ask for help, should you experience any of these conditions.
