"Schizoaffective disorder is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a mental disorder characterized by recurring episodes of elevated or depressed mood, or of simultaneously elevated and depressed mood, that alternate with, or occur together with, distortions in perception. Schizoaffective disorder most commonly affects cognition and emotion. Auditory hallucinations, paranoia, bizarre delusions, or disorganized speech and thinking with significant social and occupational dysfunction are typical." [link]
people often misunderstand mental disorders. maybe because these disorders don't seem to show any 'visible' symptoms, or the symptoms are subtle and all happen in the brain. people can identify and accept cancer, down's syndrome, malaria, yellow fewer, psoriasis and so on. rarely can they identify and accept mental illnesses.
schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, agoraphobia etc. are all serious conditions.
please take care of yourself and your beloved ones and don't be afraid to ask for help, should you experience any of these conditions.
